  Aujourd'hui, l'Église célèbre la Fête de la Sainte Famille de Marie, Joseph et Jésus. Avant de nous plonger dans les raisons pour lesquelles cette famille est proclamée « Sainte », considérons d'abord l'origine humaine de la famille. Dès le début, Dieu a créé la première famille : Adam et Ève. Dieu leur a donné une mission divine : collaborer à Sa création, se multiplier et prendre soin du Jardin d'Éden, vivre dans les limites de la liberté et de l'espace accordés par Dieu. Malheureusement, ils ont été trompés par Satan, présenté comme le serpent ancien. Malgré cette chute originelle, Dieu n'a pas abandonné son plan initial. Dieu a continué à accompagner Ses créatures. Ce voyage, marqué par la présence de Dieu à travers les prophètes et les rois, a pris un tournant avec l'appel d'Abraham. Today, the mother Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. Before exploring into why this family is heralded “Holy”, let us first consider the human origine of family. From the outset, God created the first family: Adam and Eve. God gave them a divine mission: to collaborate in His creation, multiply and tend to the Garden of Eden, live within the realms of freedom and space granted by God. Unfortunately, they were deceived by the Satan, presented as the ancient serpent. Notwithstanding this original fall, God didn’t give up in his initial plan. God continued to journey with His creature. This journey, marked by God's presence through prophets and kings, took a turning point with the call of Abraham. By making alliance with Him, God is revealed as a “God of Promise”, as “Promise-keeping God. Abraham embraced God's promise, foreseeing a lineage as numerous as the stars.   Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, we are indeed blessed to receive the gift of the Divine Word. We continue our meditation on the first letter of St. John. Today, we meditate on 1 John 2:12-17. In this passage, John reminds us that our sins have been forgiven through the Name of Jesus. We recall the Annunciation, when the angel Gabriel told Mary, “ You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.” In the Hebrew language, Yeshua – Jesus means " God saves," "delivers," and so forth. John begins by stating, “ I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of His name .” This is a profound reminder of the incredible gift of salvation we have received through Jesus Christ.                            Lorsque nous allions au catéchisme, on nous posait souvent une question fondamentale : « Pourquoi Dieu t'a-t-il créé ? » Et on nous enseignait que « Dieu m'a créé pour Le connaître, L'aimer, L'adorer ici sur Terre et être avec Lui dans la vie éternelle au ciel ». Cette réponse englobe toute la question du sens de la vie et de la raison pour laquelle nous sommes ici sur Terre.   When we went to catechism, we were often asked a fundamental question: “Why did God create you? And we were taught to answer  by saying:  “God created me, to know Him, Love, worship Him here and Earth, and be with Him in eternal life in heaven” .  This response encapsulates the whole question of the meaning of life of and the reason why we are here on Earth. Therefore, it is important to know Him, for without this knowledge, we cannot really Love God.      Today’s first reading focuses our attention on the knowledge of God. Jesus is the visible face of the invisible God. As the perfect expression of God’s love for us, He has taught us who God our Father is and what God expects of us.  Saint John, having lived with Jesus, experienced God in his life and thus shared his experience to Christians of his time.  He makes us understand that a major means of knowing God is through His commandments. John writes, “We know that we have come to know Him (God) if we keep his commandments.” This

Beloved in Christ, today, the Catholic Church commemorates the Feast of the Holy Innocents. The biblical readings given to us challenge our perception of God, the nature of evil, the role of human agency in a world that experience both darkness and light. The celebration of the Nativity of Jesus and the fulfillment of prophecies help us meditate on the foundation of our faith. The first reading, (1 John1:5 to 2:2 ) offer us a reflection on God. The evangelist John says: “God is light and in Him there is no darkness!”. Using the image of light to describe God enlightens our mind. Its opposition to the darkness of sin and evil helps us comprehend that as children of God, “created in God’s image and likeness ”, we are called upon to walk in in light; in other words, the reflect the image of our Creator. Darkness is often associated with fear, crime, evil, etc. Several biblical passages invite us to live as children of light. Ephesians 5:8-11says: “For you were once darkness, but now y

Alors que nous nous préparons à célébrer Noël, prenons un moment pour réfléchir sur le message de Luc 1:57-66. Ce passage des Écritures nous invite à contempler la naissance miraculeuse et le nom donné à Jean le Baptiste, qui a annoncé la Nativité du Christ et nous rappelle le plan du salut de Dieu. L'importance du Nom : Dans ces versets, nous assistons à la naissance du fils d'Elisabeth et de Zacharie, un événement remarquable marqué par l'intervention divine. Le nom donné au nouveau-né, « Jean », signifiant « Dieu est miséricordieux », n'est pas seulement la formalité de nommer un enfant ; c'est plutôt une déclaration prophétique. As we prepare to celebrate Christmas, let us take a moment to reflect on the Gospel message of today (Luke 1:57-66). This scripture passage invites us to contemplate the miraculous birth and naming of John the Baptist, which foreshadowed the Nativity of Christ and reminds us of God's unfolding plan. The Significance of the Name : In these verses, we witness the birth of Elizabeth and Zechariah's son, which was a remarkable event marked by divine intervention. The name given to the newborn, «  John,  » meaning «  God is gracious,  » is not just the formality of giving name to a new born child; it is rather a prophetic declaration. The restoration of Zechariah’s speech at then naming of his son is sign and importance of God’s word. It’s a sign to the neighbors that something extraordinary is happening and this testifies of the divine nature of John’s birth and his future mission. We can see in the restored speech a symbol of restoration of the prophetic voice in Israel. J

Hier, nous avons médité sur l'Annonciation de l'ange Gabriel à la Mère Marie et comment son « Oui » a ouvert la voie au mystère de l'Incarnation de Jésus. L'Évangile d'aujourd'hui se présente comme une continuité de l'Annonciation. C'est une rencontre splendide entre Marie et sa cousine Élisabeth : deux femmes que Dieu a utilisées pour accomplir Son plan de salut. Cet Évangile nous aide à comprendre davantage l'identité de Marie et la nature profonde de sa mission en tant que Mère de notre Sauveur. Yesterday, we meditated on the Annunciation of Angel Gabriel to Mother Mary and how her “Yes” paved the way for the mystery of Incarnation of Jesus.   Today’s Gospel comes as a continuity with the annunciation. It is a splendid encounter between Mary and her cousin Elizabeth: two women whom God used to accomplish His plan of salvation. This Gospel helps us understand further the identity of Mary and the profound nature of her mission as Mother of our Savior. The first thing that strikes me in this Gospel is the promptitude with which Mary acted on the message of angle Gabriel. St Luke says: “ Mary set out in those days and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah .” This journey of Mary is not just physical, but deeply spiritual. Her haste speaks to the urgency and importance of her mission. She carries within her the Savior of the world, and her journey to Elizabeth is a testament to her immediate acceptance and active participation in God's plan.   She goes rapi
